Obituaries

Mr. James Loyd Leopard, 80, of Tanner passed away on Monday, February 1, 2010.

The funeral will be Thursday, February 4, 2010 at 3:00 p.m. at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home with Ray McElhaney  and Clark Theriot officiating.  Burial will be at Limestone Memorial Gardens.

Visitation is from 1:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 4, 2010 at Limestone Chapel.

Mr. Leopard was born July 28, 1929 in Limestone County to Robert L. and Gladys Stewart Leopard.  He was a member of First Baptist Church Tanner.  Mr. Leopard was a retired State Farm Insurance Agent.  He was a Gideon and a member of the Limestone Cattleman’s Association.

Mr. Leopard was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Wanda Leopard Tucker; brothers:  Kenneth Leopard, and Walter Leopard; sisters:  Betty Leopard Engle and Beatrice Leopard.

Survivors:

Wife:  Elizabeth Lewis Leopard of Tanner, AL; Daughters:  Sandra Leopard Johnson and husband, Tommy of Tanner, AL; Sue Leopard Keenum and husband, Stan of Trinity, AL; Anna Leopard Duren and husband, Doug of Athens, AL; Debbie Smith (who was like a daughter) and husband, Ted of Madison, AL;  son-in-law: Roger Lovell, of Tanner, AL; brother:  Martin Leopard and wife, Linda of Ardmore, AL; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers:  Jason Keenum, Clint Johnson, Lance Cooper, James Ball, Brandon Solomon and Rod Hill.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of Limestone County.
